Hi whoever-you-are!

(Or "Hejsa" in Danish.)

Thank you for stopping by. As always: these pages are under construction - newest addition: this is what this page looked like in 1996 - my first ever homepage!

I'm 34 years old (birthday March 2 1967, original air date of the Star Trek episode This Side Of Paradise), and I've spent a lot of my life learning. Now I've got a master of science degree and try to handle a job as a teacher at IMMA. My home is in Nakskov, capital of Lolland, Denmark. My main hobby is music. My main interest in fiction is of the science kind.

Wanna know why I made this home page? Well, I'm a fan of Mike Oldfield, and know a bit about him. And after joining the mailing list Amarok, I've learned a lot more. Now I'm trying to make a few pages about him, like the Mike Oldfield University and a searchable Mike Oldfield discography (I only added the search interface). (For the tough questions about Mike Oldfield, please refer to your nearest Oldfield Guru.)

A few personal things. Make sure you see Events, some of the big events of my life. Want to read some great quotes from the people mentioned below? (This is also a list of the qoutes I use in my signature.)

As I said, my main hobby is music. I started singing when I was 12 years old, and for many years my biggest dream was to sing like Olivia Newton-John. I've also admired the Danish band Shubidua for years, they have such great lyrics, and I wanted to write as good as they do. (In fact I've had new tunes written for a few of my texts :-) Queen was added to the collection of idols later, after I had a chance to sing Bohemian Rhapsody. Oh, Freddie has such a great voice as well. Miss you, Freddie! But I guess my favorite piece of music of all times (the one I put on when I'm stressed, sad, or just want to enjoy life a bit more) is Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield. This led to me listening to other pieces of his music, going to Hamburg to a concert and so on. And now - well, I'm hooked. And it doesn't help one bit that a lot of my friends are bigger fans than me! (Wanna buy Oldfield records? Go to ProMO.)

And let me just repeat that: Olivia Newton-John, Shubidua, Queen, Tubular Bells, Mike Oldfield.

How about the lyrics for my favorite song, A kind of Magic Touch? :-)

Or you can listen to my contribution to the tributation project (a project to make a CD with Mike Oldfield music, played by his fans), one clap.

Or how about an Olivia Newton-John discography. Why? Because nobody else had made it!

Check out Events, with some Oldfield events from my life.

Books. Well, I've certainly read a lot of them. And of course there's some favorites. I can remember seeing The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams on German television years ago, and I was thrilled to find it as a book as well. Terry Pratchett is just as funny, he just writes fantasy instead. And while I'm at it, I adore Garfield, and got all the albums that's been translated to Danish, and then some! For the more serious bits, I like the way Isaac Asimov handles the future. And I like the way Stephen King handles describing people, even though I'm not a great fan of horror. And finally I've got to recommend the Narnia books by C.S.Lewis. Yeah, they're books for children, but I still like to read them from time to time.

Oh yeah, the links: The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Garfield, Isaac Asimov, Stephen King, C.S.Lewis.

Uhm, movies. Well, I've seen some of those too. And whatever else comes along on the screen. I guess I'm a full fledged trekkie, after seeing Raumschiff Enterprise on German TV as a child. (No, Danish television isn't my favorite.) Saw Next Generation as well, and all of the motion pictures. Missed Voyager though. And lately I've begun seeing Babylon 5. But when Red Dwarf came along, it became harder to decide what to see ... And while we're at the funny stuff, I've spent untold days trying to learn the sketches of Monty Python's Flying Circus by heart. (Almost there in some cases ...) And other fun stuff? Well, I think I do know both When Harry met Sally and A Bunny's Tale by heart. Such wonderful, funny stories about intelligent people falling in love, finding out who they are, all those important things. Hm, that description sounds familiar. Did I mention I like Shadowlands as well?

And the magnificent links: Star Trek, Babylon 5, When Harry met Sally, A Bunny's Tale, Shadowlands.

Do you think you can solve Rubik's Cube? Or are you one of those people, who could solve it 10 years ago, but now it seems to have slipped your mind ...

Well, I guess that's almost it. Let me recommend some electronic postcards: E-cards. It's free for you to send them, but even then it results in a donation to the World Wildlife Fund, made by a private sponsor.

Peekaboo Oh, and I love Peekaboo.

Hanwyahf = Have a nice whatever-you-are-headed-for,

Lise
